2 Peter 3:6-7King James Version (KJV)
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2 Peter 3:6-7 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
6 whereby the world as it then was, being overflowed with water, perished.
7 But the heavens and the earth which now are, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the Day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

6 This refers to the flood in Noah’s day, Genesis 6-9 is the story of Noah. Only 8 survived the flood, other than the animals they had, Noah and his wife, Shem and his wife, Ham and his wife and Japheth and his wife, everyone else died. This was the first and so far only judgment to fall on the whole earth.
7 The promise given to Noah was that the earth would never again end with a flood. This could refer to the world being destroyed by fire but most likely refers to the fire of hell which is where those who reject Christ will go for judgment.
