Job 1:13-15
Job 1:13-15 King James Version (KJV)
13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Job 1:13-15 Good News Translation (GNT)
13 One day when Job's children were having a feast at the home of their oldest brother, 14 a messenger came running to Job. “We were plowing the fields with the oxen,” he said, “and the donkeys were in a nearby pasture. 15 Suddenly the Sabeans attacked and stole them all. They killed every one of your servants except me. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.”

13 They often had feasts but it shows they were doing this instead of reacting to what happened, it shows that they had comfort in life and lost it due to their taking comfort if they were out their with the servants they may have been able to spare so.
14 This messenger was a servant of Job spared so Job could have known what had happened. The number of oxen Job had was not numbered, but would have most likely been in the hundreds or even thousands. Job had 500 donkeys.
15 This have taken many people to steal all these donkeys, So Job has a servant left that cared for the donkeys and worked with the oxen but there are no longer any donkeys or oxen. Sabeans were lived in the south west of the Arabian Peninsula. They were a group of idol and star worshipers. They are often viewed as a group of bandits that lived in the desert. They were also worked with trading, so it is likely they gave what Job had to others for money or something else rather than keeping it for them.
