Studying Ephesians

Post by vmtwriter on Tue Mar 25, 2014 11:28 am

What a great letter, Paul has written in the book of Ephesians. We are spending approximately 12 weeks studying the book and how it affects our lives. Really getting into the message Paul had about wanting us to live an immeasurably more life.

Ephesians 3:20

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us"

Ephesians was written to encourage believers in Ephesus, to think of themselves in a whole new way. Instead of people once involved in idol worship, illicit sex and foolish philosophies, Paul wanted them to think of themselves as people "in Christ" people wit ha radically new identity.

Ephesians 2:12-13

"remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ."

I think it's one of the greatest books in the Bible. So full of hope and promise. It truly shows us how God wants us to live our lives.
