Two Movies to see and to not see
Me and my wife went to two movies this week. Something we normally would never do. I had a movie I wanted to see and she had hers, so we decided to splurge and take in both.
First we went to my choice. "Monuments Men" I can use one word to sum it up. TERRIBLE. The acting was horrific, there was no passion whatsoever shown in any of the scenes. When someone died I was not moved at all I was actually relieved hoping the movie was closer to ending. The humor was awful. I felt no emotions whatsoever during the entire show. It was like watching paint dry hoping it just finished.
The second movie we saw was "God is not dead" This movie I was immediately drawn into. The characters were interesting the story line was great. The acting was superb. It also brought to the table a question which all atheist must ask themselves? I will not spoil the movie by saying anymore, but in my book it would be a great loss to anyone who misses this movie.
On a foot note one of the main characters was played by Kevin Sorbo. In Hercules he was a mediocre actor at best. In this movie he showed not only passion for his role but in my honest opinion it is one of the best performances by an actor I have ever seen.
I was so moved by the portrayal of his character that I went home and looked up his beliefs. Here is what I found. You might find it interesting.
