Job 3:17-18
Job 3:17-18
Job 3:17-18 King James Version (KJV)
17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
18 There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
Job 3:17-18 Good News Translation (GNT)
17 In the grave wicked people stop their evil,
and tired workers find rest at last.
18 Even prisoners enjoy peace,
free from shouts and harsh commands.

17 Death stops evil but the evil people do face judgment, they do not just no longer exist but face the punishment for their sins in hell. Sin no longer happens after death, but the result of sin is hell our only hope is Jesus. We no longer have to work after we die as Christians we are given rest after death not just from work but from the troubles that come along with life.
18 At death people are no longer prisoners but if they are prisoners of sin by never being set free from sin by Christ, they will be prisoners in their judgment. They will not have to worry about pleasing their master any more but if they never worried about the Master then they have a lot more problems.
17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
18 There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
