Job 2:3-4 Empty Job 2:3-4

Job 2:3-4 King James Version (KJV)

And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

Job 2:3-4 Good News Translation (GNT)

“Did you notice my servant Job?” the Lord asked. “There is no one on earth as faithful and good as he is. He worships me and is careful not to do anything evil. You persuaded me to let you attack him for no reason at all, but Job is still as faithful as ever.”

Satan replied, “A person will give up everything in order to stay alive.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

3 This is the second time God asks Satan this, God still knew the answer. We should act as Job did and avoid evil and serve God, Jesus did this better than anyone could ever because Jesus is God He could set the perfect example. Job was not perfect but Satan may have seen him as because he was so righteous. The greatest worship we can do is to not do evil. God allows Satan to attack us with sickness and physical problems; it is also a result of the fallen state of sin.

4 Satan is wrong here even though Job would fall to sin it was God’s way for Him to be able to lift Job back up.
